Olmo To Miss Switzerland Clash Despite Avoiding Knee Injury

Olmo to miss Switzerland clash despite avoiding knee injury

Spain midfielder returns to training but not fit enough to face Switzerland

Dani Olmo will miss Spain's friendly against Switzerland on Sunday despite escaping a serious knee injury.

The RB Leipzig player underwent tests on Friday after suffering a knock in training, but the results showed no significant damage.

Olmo is now back in training but has not been passed fit to play in Geneva.

Spain coach Luis Enrique will be without several key players for the friendly, including Sergio Busquets, Aymeric Laporte, and Mikel Oyarzabal.

Enrique is likely to give some of his fringe players a chance to impress against Switzerland, with the likes of Nico Williams and Borja Iglesias in line to start.

Spain are preparing for the World Cup in Qatar, which begins in November.

They have been drawn in Group E alongside Germany, Japan, and Costa Rica.
